Still Too Fast To Race: Group B Rally Supercars Part 2

You may remember the post about Group B rally supercars early last year. Too Fast To Race was a good documentary about the rise and fall of this legendary class of racing. It seems I’ve stumbled across a sequel to Too Fast To Race, called Still Too fast To Race. Well, not a sequel exactly but another video that covers some of the great Group B history. I just can’t get enough of the original Group B footage and I have a feeling that you can’t either. Enjoy!

The 1967 Formula One German Grand Prix, held at the legendary Nurburgring, was the very first race in history to be broadcast in color on German television. Not only was this one of the greatest generations of Formula One cars, but imagine the excitement of seeing them in color for the very first time! Man, we’re spoiled

Hey Porsche, Nice Work!

There has been a lot of talk and praise surrounding Porsche build quality and reliability over the last couple of years. JD Power awarded Porsche the number one spot for reliability. A German brand that has historically been synonymous with performance was ranked above all of the Japanese cars… Incredible! For a guy like me, reliability is a very important consideration when buying a car. I can’t afford to have a high-end weekend driven sports car. Even if I could, I’d want to drive it everyday. Congratulations Porsche, keep up the good work and hopefully others will follow in your footsteps of joining the performance we want with the reliability we hope for.

PS. Please send me a 911 like in the video below for Christmas. Love, John

There is fast, and there is FAST. George Poteet and Ron Main have persisted in setting the record in a piston driven streamliner, the Speed Demon. It takes a different breed of person to go over 400mph on land. Sure, many of us think we’d do it if given the chance, but how many of us would actually be able to keep our foot in it once we saw the speedometer pass 200… 250… 300…350… 400… and beyond? It’s hard to even imagine the feeling.

BMW European Delivery

So in our last installment, our boy Matt attended M-School and got his shoe on… Now, he’s headed to Germany to pick up his own M3. Its one of the dream vacations for a lot of Americans that has a payoff – a brand new car with one of best V8 motors ever to leave the German state. And you get to enjoy the car for a bit on foreign roads before it is loaded up and shipped to the States.

BMW M School

DOGFIGHT member MattStrube was fortunate enough to attend 2 days of BMW’s M- performance driving school. He and his wife had so much fun that they couldn’t let it stop there. They were so mesmerized by BMW’s latest V-8 powered M3, they knew they had to have one of their own. So, they decided to get the most out of the experience by taking delivery of their new M3 at the BMW Factory. More on that to come.
