Crickets AND Denny Z....cool!
I think Mike S. is Bobby's younger brother
Just a couple pics - before (9/12) and after (3/13). It's farther along now and I WILL be ready for July and 1st race at Spencer!
Interesting stuff regarding the 888's, 3's, etc. All I can say is that all versions of those 3 windowed coupes looked and sat RIGHT. And (needless to say), I'm a BIG 5 windowed Chevy fan!
Racemad55,
Is the #73 Cavalier the car you mentioned that Brian Ross just bought back? Can't really imagine that as a dirt car. It had a great look, though. I remember it clearly. Also remember...
Denny,
I just want to say how lucky we are to have you and your memories here on this forum. I'm from Upstate NY (Rochester area) and don't think I ever got to see you race, but I definitely got...
rubbing my legs together, but still not getting much chirping...
I remember him at the last Langhorne race. Leading, gets a flat and pits under green and goes a lap down.
Without the aid of a caution, he unlaps himself, and then passes everyone again to take...
rj2971,
Those are some fine looking coupes! I particularly like the 134...very nice!
In post #2300, that's Dave Nichols in the red #34 Corvair. It also looks like the Turner Bros. Corvair next to Dutch's coupe. And yes, Bodine's Vega was the Valiant re-skinned.
Skull,
Great conceptual thinking! Keep us all in the loop (with pics) as you go.
Fitz
Sorry to hear about your brother, Denny...way too young!
Thanks all....and I just learned TODAY that the GM R & D facility I work at is closing at the end of Feb. So, it appears that I'll have plenty of time to fix it!
S10ace,
I've hesitated to post, cuz it's pretty depressing. But it is fix-able, and I WILL have it back together by May!
What happened (I think) is either a bolt came out of the LR trailing arm...
I should be in the garage working, as the left side of my car no longer looks anything like my avatar. I resolve to stop procrastinating and start working...the day after tomorrow!
No postings for 6 days....SUP with that!??
paperboy,
Thanks! I remember that one, but the one I was thinking of (with the flapping roof) was a year or two older. I think it was a '60 Buick.
jsfury,
That'd be great....thanks!
"I took a second look, and this is a Buick. Ya' seldom saw those on the ovals."
At Shangri-la, where that #73 ran, Jim Zacharias had a HUGE amount of success running nail head Buicks in the old...
jsfury,
Actually, the 77x shown in the pic from 1972 was neither. Back then there were only 2 classes: Modifieds or Late Models. Late Models back then actually ran the same tires as the Mods.,...
Leadfooot4 (Lon),
You picqued my curiosity with your inquire about a track near your PA home. At first I thought maybe Hatfield, but it was @ 60 miles East of New Holland (not between N. H. and...
