I finally watched episode 1 last night. I'm not thrilled with it. To much trying to be the English version. Trying to make it a formula. I'll watch number 2 tonight. But if it doesn't get better in the next few epsiodes they lost me.

Big brother is watching.... so hold my beer.
I'm still hoping it will gel into a program that will stand on its own.
But right now, for me, it suffers from the fact that its imitating something that is really good.
Just like Hollywood cant seem make a film without first looking if there was a ready made movie out there to mimic.
( preferably French... Like Breathless, The man with one red shoe, and countless other ones.)
Had a marathon session of TV at the inlaws this weekend to make up for none at home. The show was really lame IMHO. I much preferred the Brewmasters show
I watched episode 2 tonight, still not impressed, they're trying to hard and really should have gotten some guys that were more car guys. The Tanner guy and his drift thing is the most "car guy" they've got. The other guys are struggling.

Now why on earth would they hire a car guy to do a car show?
I guess I will tune in to episode three and see how they are doing.
I enjoy dry British humor, and Top Gear is what it is.
It might be a mistake to make an "American Version".
I can think of a few mutual acquaintances that might make for some good TV, but I don't know that I would call it Top Gear USA.
I would be interested in seeing what some of the folks on here could produce with a Flip and I-Movie.
Just watched a couple of them online...they just need to relax a little more. It sounds way too scripted. All the good info and setup is there, it seems fake right now.
Oh dear....well, won't be watching that again.
I was unimpressed. BBC's Top Gear is excellent. Despite a little ribbing on Americans and American cars, they are genuinely impressed with some US Built cars that they get to drive. Jezzer is an excellent host. These Top Gear USA knuckleheads have no original material. That Viper/Chopper segment was boring...and it was supposed to be the action highlight of the show? Pathetic.
I hate the fact that the US version of Top Gear is EXACTLY like the BBC version. This is getting ridiculous with American TV shows copying successful shows from other countries. Aside from "The Office" none of these copycat shows can compare to the originals. Top Gear USA needs to do something different...like go away.
Top Gear BBC for me.
What an Awsome show, I think its going to be around for a long time !!1
