Should have known better than to try that on the HAMB. But I love your work.

It just cracks me up what is "oK" and what isn't. This car is going to be hardcore traditional bonneville from the outside and even the interior. You won't know what is going on underneath at all unless the trunk is open. There are far more un-traditional builds over there. Not a negative comment in the thread and Ryan shut it down and told me it would be "groovy on dogfight".... Guess he is trying to get more people over here.
So thats fine if people over here appreciate this kind of car than this is where I'll be

Yeah, not HAMB worthy. I would actually like to see a crack down on some of the more mundane and off topic stuff like big trucks, and pedestrian 60's econo cars. But, I am not the king of that domain. I have been guilty of posting some slightly more than on topic stuff, but I try my best to put an educational spin on things so people have the information at hand. I also try and push for quality builds when I can.
I hate seeing slapped together crap. Effort+vision=WIN
I can dig it! Please-O-please do not "patina" that car. It deserves a nice paint job.
Yeah, I'm with you. I'm a history whore, therefore I love the HAMB. It's one of my favorite sites because of the wealth of historical knowledge over there. But I have to laugh when somebody gets outraged over a car they see as "off-topic", and five minutes later, you see the same cat in another thread talking about his 67 Chevelle.
Always looking for more pics or info on early (pre-Y2K) Fox Body Mustang Pro 5.0 class racers, magazine test cars, etc.

We do what we can, but there is no way we are going to catch everything.
So if you see something that is Off Topic on the HAMB, please Report it.
Also, the HAMB has a Questions & Suggestions Forum.
You can start a Thread there, if you feel that there are too many Threads about things that are not Relevant to Trad Hot Rods & Trad Customs.
Or reply on the one that is already going...

I remember seeing this car somewhere before, on the HAMB or not I can't recall. I love the theory of this build, who cares where it fits in or if it fits in anywhere at all.
What an awesome build. Too bad it's not Ford-powered, but I certainly can't argue with the powerplant choice as being a great one for making the numbers.
cheers

Yah didn't intend to bag on the hamb. I have been on there for a long time. My stuff is always a little off from any normal thing so it is hard to find a good site where my cars fit. I have always enjoyed the do it yourself craftsmanship I think of when I think of the hamb so I try to add to that even if my stuff isn't 100% traditional. It just bummed me out to get shut down when lets face it 90% of the cars on the hamb have un-traditional five speeds, disc brakes etc.
But hey if this site digs my stuff than I'll come here.

I hope you mean not hamb friendly? Not hamb worthy could be taken as an insult.....
I have not completely made up my mind on paint. I don't intend to "patina" but can't see the car with a super nice paint job either. I may compromise... I plan on making the body/fit/gaps perfect and then give it a nice paint but just fade it slightly as if it were a very well kept up race car.
