TheFlying70.... again, a great looking car!! Are those custom headers or out of the box from one of the race car parts houses? I'm trying to get a set for my 36 coupe. Any suggestions out there?

Doug the flying 70 really looks good along with the Hemi Cuda 69. Funny that the two cars reappear around the same time both a part of the 1970 race at Trenton and Langhorn. Both a icon of those days. Doug we didn't have crome wheels back in the day and I know JR wouldn't buy them! Good Luck A fine fine job Richie Vee

Those are stock Dynatech headers to fit a Troyer (and maybe CD/Spafco) that I bought used several years ago at the Thompson swap meet. I just had them ceramic coated - Doug

I have a set of gold wheels on the car now. (The chrome wheels are actually polished aluminum). I'm taking the car to New Haven to show it to Lou & Sal Saturday morning. I don't want to get yelled at about the wheels. :-)

    Thanks all for the compliments!

I remember watching the Hemi-Cuda race at Albany/Saratoga. To say the least, the sound of that Hemi was different. Their use of a 'Cuda body prompted me to use one myself. The restoration is great. I love it. I can hear that Hemi growling right now.

Don't recall seeing the flying #70 race. But this recreation is super. I'd say run any wheels you want to!! I always liked neat graphics to highlight the car #. What's done here to the # is killer!!!

Both of these cars are fantastic, but ya'll already knew that!!!

A visit to Sunbeam Service Center

I took my car to show it to the original owner & driver yesterday. I'm the guy in the middle; Sal Dee (driver) is to the left; Lou Dee, Jr (owner) is to the right and long-time crew member Ray is in the background. Another crew member, Dick, was also there but is not in the picture.

I can't tell you how impressed they were with the car, especially considering there hasn't been a Flying 70 for the last 42 years. I also can't ever remember making 5 people as happy as these guys were to see this thing.

Made it all worth it and I haven't turned a lap yet.

I saw the Hemi Cuda as a kid at Fulton and Oswego. There was nothing like it. I even saw Shampine drive it. I miss the sound of the Hemi ;(
