Hank71, looks like you're having way too much fun in that beautiful Falcon bodied modified. What a beautiful day you had yesterday for the race.
Not picking on Mod Driver's comment, just want to offer this....
Something I found very interesting was a study that was performed several years ago on the thirty-three starters for the Indianapolis 500. The drivers were given complete physicals and other testing which included reaction times and forms of hand eye coordination.
As I recall, the average age of the drivers that year was 39 or 40 years old. The thing I found very interesting was that the study and testing showed that ALL of the drivers, even the older ones, had reflexes that were superior and correlated to that of an 18 year old male. This was a surprise to the researchers as they assumed the axiom that we lose our reflexes with age.
After looking at the data, one of the conclusions of the study was that while race car drivers may have some unique talents and skills, the data seemed to confirm that our reflexes deteriorate more from lack of use and not from aging.
Funny Car Drag Racing Champion John Force is 63 years old and is still pretty quick off the line. He commented that he uses a simulator to practice with in the off season to keep his reaction times quick.
Sounds like the ole', "Use it.... or lose it" may apply.

Moselli

#24 Will Cagle and #6 Davey Moore
Mike PA Got to tell you Super pics. Get my OLD mind to think back about these guys is GREAT. Like getting thrown out of Cagle shop in Albany ,to Davey Moores crew Helping me change a motor at there shop in St Cathernies Ont. I'm just waiting to show up in one myself.lol Just Great pics an Memories. Thanks Mike Ryan
The #24 is the car Bob Luscome built for Cagle for the '75 racing season. I visited Luscombe's shop outside Orlando in '76. This was the only Pinto Cagle owned. Think he ran it '75-'76 with leaf rear springs and then changed it over to torsion bars. That was a GREAT car for him.
Too bad I didn't read this earlier. I had dinner with Barb and Will last night to celebrate my birthday and then went back to my house to have some of Barb's homemade birthday pie.
I would've asked him about the tossing incident, although he'd probably ask "which one?". Knowing him, I'm sure there was many that got tossed.
The Willy Will "throw out " was I went over to pick up Stacey Reveves ( Weld Car builder) togo to a party at his girlfriends house in Voorhesville. Well any way Stacey had to finish up I Helped him & Will till they had to work on the cell area of the Weld car he was taking to Syacuse.
Thats when he said out wait in the car ,out I went, Stacey cameout said "I Sorry " - I answered Donot worry I've been thrown out of better shops . lol Later in time Will stopped to ask me about the weather @ Syacuse,I guy there said Wow he never says Boo , too much on his mind there. Only thing I ever ask him During the races was " How the girls were " We raced against each other ,an knew when to talk an not. Ask Barb IF she remembers him Hollering at her in Canada during a Pit stop. Just one crew guy an she was there . After the race he said Sorry as she was Mad , " Well It got you moving in the right direction".
I'm Glad I have my Mind Still, I worked with/ around some Great people from Goober to Tighe Scott, Howie Cronce . An ThoseMemories, along with my childhood Heros Buddy Krebs, Ed Patnode, Hated Billy Greco, but Now Billy is a Good friend. Just make this thread So Important.
