    Chevy True Stories

This isn't exactly an automotive performance video, but I have a soft spot for 60's era GM cars and my dad. Chevrolet recently released a series of online video stories called Chevy True Stories. This one is called "My Dad's Car".

Thanks John! This is the third or forth time watching this video. Tears flow every time. It was posted up on another forum I frequent. It doesn't matter the brand. What a great story. It's about the emotion and attachment we develop for our beloved cars. All the memories that go with it.

I am currently restoring my late Dad's Ranchero. Every time I work on it memories come flooding back. In fact it's sometimes hard to work on it, because he's not physically there with me. We did all the work on that truck together. He to had owned it since it was new in '65.

Naw, it don't matter the brand, it's a car. We love cars. They become part of the family. We identify people by the car they drive, not what they look like. Memories are made in cars. At least they used to be.

    Thanks again John!

    Have A Great Day!

Great video! And from what it looks like the car had been well taken care of.

Another similar story, OT though.. But about sons wanting to give back to their father.

    http://vimeo.com/11285536

I really wish the video had subtitles as I'm deaf but still.. the Chevy video is a real tear jerker as within less than 3 weeks, the 2nd anniversary of my dad's death will be upon me and my family. I had always wanted to do something like this for my father. I remember asking my dad what car he would want back out of all the 80 plus cars he's owned in his lifetime and every time, it was the same blue on white '71 Trans A.M. with the 455 H.O. and 4-speed combination. He lost it when his friend borrowed it and crashed it driving home. I would have loved to restore that car for my father later on down the road just to show him my appreciation for his parenting in my life and helping me mature into the man I am today.

I really appreciate the efforts from the sons in the Chevy video as well as any other similar stories for giving back to their fathers. That restores my faith in humanity nowadays. It really is overwhelmingly refreshing to see these events aspire. Words just can't describe.

Thanks for posting that on here.

EDIT: (Can someone tell me how to get the video to show up on here from Vimeo?)
