The supercharger forced air into the the manifold directly opposite cylinders 1 & 2 so they took most of the air.

This meant they ran lean and 3 & 4 ran rich.

You would have thought a manufacturer could have come up with a better system.

That's very interesting. Do you know if there was a theory behind their engineering decision for the intake design?

Yeah, I think they were dumb bastards that wouldn't know shit form clay!

They did some really weird stuff on these cars and they were the pinnacle of the international rally scene.

Scares me to think what the rest of the manufacturers were up to.
