Your philoshophy on building, however, is spot on.
Hey, I asked what you thought. Thanks for the input. I'm right there with you on the chopped and not channeled look. The East coast high top heavy channel aesthetic never really grabbed me. I loved how HRCC was able to get the stance just right without a channel. One of the earlier comments had me re-look at leaving the top tall. I'm still leaning toward 4-5" chop. Either way, better not take this to the store for a loaf of bread if your hungry and in a hurry. Sure to develop a lot of "what the hell is that" discussions everywhere I park it. Here's to hoping the local police have a soft spot for history and a sense of humor.

BTW, I also love Mopar. I still believe the E body Mopars where some of the most beautiful cars ever...who cares if they start to "fly" at 100mph. What's that they say, Engineered by geniuses, designed by fools and assembled by amateurs. I'd say the Cammer is a classic case of "if you can't beat 'em join 'em".

I believe I did see this truck on the HAMB sometime last year? I can relate with the self-righteous HAMBers too. I think it fits in the HAMB perfectly however I'm happy to see it over here too. That thing is going to rule!

Do you have a set date to have this done by or are you not subjecting yourself to that kinda pressure? I would love to see this truck in person some day. HRCC and especially Kevin Tully does great work.

I would say that '67 GT500 would fit in here too. Any pictures?

You are correct sir, Kevin put up some pics last year on the HAMB. Got a phenomenal response. No set date to light the candle. Kevin hurt his shoulder and was laid up for a bit. Now that he's back in action I believe his plans are to fab some headers so we can dyno the motor; fit the radiator and integral water pump and finalize the front brakes. Then ship it to me for the chop, body and paint and final assembly.

There is no success, like excess! Radical build it sure is. I second the opinion on car shows, driving is the best show of all.

I was at a local "cars and coffee" event this morning before church and guy there had a 1965 Mercury Cyclone that had been resto-modded with a 427 SOHC. Which got me to thinking, that the engine must be worth many, many times what the rest of the car is worth. What really is the approximate value of a Cammer (one that runs and doesn't need a rebuild)??

Interesting thought, I can't necessarily speak to the cost of an original SOHC motor not in need of a rebuild. There is a alot of "X" factor in what someone will pay for a purely period correct, original, exotic powerplant. The sole basis I have for a WAG is the cost of replacement with the repop heads that are occasionally available. I say occasionally available because, I had to wait almost a year for a set. Of course mine has a Hilborn injection unit so you could run a dual quad set up and save a few Grand. All in, with parts, machining, assembly (by one of the few shops that has experience with this motor - this is no SBC) and dyno time you'd better bring a 40 and I don't mean malt liquor.

So then I assume that one with original heads would be worth even more?

Anyone know how many 427 SOHC's Ford produced originally?
